What We Do

Our five pillars of focus.

Every intervention we design stands on four connected pillars — because a child cannot thrive on sport alone.

Why Sport Matters

A HIGH-RETURN INVESTMENT IN HUMAN DEVELOPMENT

Sport matters because it is a cost-effective, high-return investment in human development. The 2024 UNESCO Social Impact of Sport report shows that sport delivers substantial social value across eight dimensions — including health, education, equality and youth empowerment — and that every monetary unit invested in sport can yield a social return of up to 3.28 units.

Sport is a proven tool for advancing the Sustainable Development Goals. UNESCO champions sport as a catalyst for social change, peace and the empowerment of youth, women and vulnerable groups. UNICEF reinforces this, showing that sport builds children's confidence, motivation and active lifestyles when it is safe, fun and inclusive.

In South Africa, the Department of Basic Education and UNICEF confirm that Physical Education and School Sport (PESS) are cornerstones for societal change — addressing physical inactivity, childhood obesity (13.5% of SA children) and poor educational outcomes in no-fee schools where sport-based interventions improve retention and academic performance.
